Hassles It's the sound-scape - intense & sedate, hard-edged & laid-back - very clever, very musical and Rachael's lovely vocals.

Vagabond 04:02
Lyrics Vagabond Written By: Rachael Hurwitz Verse 1 Guitar on my back, I walked down the road. Drinking away the autumn cold, Trying to forget my hurting soul. My legs like lead, But I pushed on. A lonely trail, but it lead to dawn When I heard a voice that eased my bones, But it turned out to be... Chorus Just a magpie in a tree, just my shadow in the street, But something said keep going, You'll find a place worth knowing. Verse 2 My home I up and left behind. That boy a still frame in my mind, Everywhere I turned I saw his face. So I packed my things, said my goodbyes. My roots remain, but I cut my ties, Something told me I just had to go, But it turned out to be... Chorus 2 Just the rustlin' of the leaves, just a passing evening breeze, But something said get going, You'll find a place worth knowing. Bridge Oh I don't know where I'm bound, But I've become A rambler and a vagabond, But something tells me that's okay. We were not all meant to stay in one place, in one place... Chorus 3 Like the rustlin' of the leaves, like the passing evening breeze, Something says keep going, You'll be a face worth knowing.

Coming Home 02:13
Coming Home Written By: Rachael Hurwitz Verse 1 Miles and miles away, months and months gone by. I haven't seen your face, haven't looked into your eyes. But I've seen the world, All on my own. I'm ready to come back now, your arms still feel like home. Chorus I have roamed and roamed, but I'm coming home. As sure as the wind keeps blowing, I'm coming home. Don't you know, don't you know, I'm coming home. As sure as the world keeps growing, I'm coming home. Verse 2 Mountains here can leave you Staring for some time. The markets and the dirt roads ease a troubled mind. But I'm packed and leavin' and home is on my mind. This part goes by the slowest, so I'll just close my eyes. Instrumental bridge Chorus I have roamed and roamed, but I'm coming home. As sure as the wind keeps blowing, I'm coming home. Don't you know, don't you know, I'm coming home. As sure as the world keeps growing, I'm coming home. As sure as the world keeps growing, I'm coming home.

Mountains and the Sea Written By: Rachael Hurwitz Verse 1 It's time to take those city lights and bars and restaurants in mind. 'cause I'm leaving them behind. And don't let it fill my heart, or let it weigh on my mind, to leave it all behind. Pre-chorus Ooh I'm alive, Ooh I'm alright... Chorus I'm not alone, I've got what I need in a family of redwood trees, mountains and the sea mountains and the sea. I don't miss tall buildings or concrete. I look up to redwood trees, mountains and the sea mountains and the sea. Verse 2 Hey, everybody has their people and their place that gives them what they need. And here I find myself so cradled by the green, and how I sway and flow with the sea. Pre-chorus Ooh now I see, Ooh now I see... Chorus I'm not alone, I've got what I need in a family of redwood trees, mountains and the sea mountains and the sea. I don't miss tall buildings or concrete. I look up to redwood trees, mountains and the sea mountains and the sea. Bridge Ooh it hasn't been long, Ooh but it feels like home. Chorus I'm not alone, I've got what I need in a family of redwood trees, mountains and the sea mountains and the sea. I don't miss tall buildings or concrete. I look up to redwood trees, mountains and the sea mountains and the sea. Mountains and the sea.

Lately (I've Been Dreaming) Written By: Rachael Hurwitz Verse 1 Lately i've been dreaming I'm running late, And somehow i'm supposed to But don't know the way, But everybody else does as I fall behind, Worried but I can't stop the passing time. And lately i've been dreaming I'm losing teeth. I can't seem to help it As they fall from me, But everybody else seems so cool and calm. Still I start to wonder if something's wrong. Pre-chorus Oo-oo-ooh My carefree days Oo-oo-ooh Are slipping away... Chorus But I know, If I try, I'm gonna find them again, We're only losing untill we win, And I dream on a hard road, But I won't stop now. Verse 2 And lately i've been dreaming I walk through time, Puddles to run through and trees to climb, And everything is simple, and young and sweet. I'm caught up in the way that things used to be. Pre-chorus Oo-oo-ooh My carefree days Oo-oo-ooh Are slipping away... Chorus But I know, If I try, I'm gonna find them again, We're only losing untill we win, And I dream on a hard road, But I won't stop now. Bridge I can't keep looking back along the tracks I've tread. I need to find some hope to give the road ahead. And I know... Chorus I'm gonna find it again. We're only losing untill we win, And I dream on a hard road, But I won't stop now.

about

Contemporary folk music, 60s folk, 90s pop and fifteen years of classical piano lessons all managed to work their way into this EP. Some of the common themes are nostalgia, restlessness and perseverance. And the idea that "life is not meant to be lived in one place."
